Once you have your BMI, you can check if you are a healthy weight by looking at the following BMI categories:

  • When BMI value falls somewhere below 18.5 – you would be considered underweight
  • When BMI is between values 18.5 & 24.9 – you will be considered a healthy weight
  • When BMI is between values 25 & 29.9 – you are considered overweight
  • When BMI value is above 30 – you would come in the consideration of obese

Your waist circumference is another way to measure whether you have excess weight around your middle. If your waist is more than 40 inches for men or 35 inches for women, you may have excess weight.
